The City of Hope National Medical Center, Cytogenetics Laboratory, is seeking a Clinical Director of the rapidly growing Cytogenetics Laboratory in the Division of Pathology (http://www.cityofhope.org). We are now seeking applications from candidates who are enthusiastic about working in an academic field where they will interact with basic scientific researchers and clinicians who are committed to the research, treatment and cure of cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. You will be joining an energetic laboratory staff of 38 employees in a collegial and team-oriented atmosphere. Clinical responsibilities include interpretation, reporting, and consulting of cancer cytogenetic, and molecular genetic (FISH) tests, as well as in teaching a State-accredited cytogenetic training program, active involvement in scientific publication, mentoring of fellows, and joint scientific oversight of a well-staffed new test development program. Current research projects are BAC aCGH technology and targeted FISH-based assays. The opportunity to participate in extramurally-funded research is available. PhD Clinical Cytogeneticists or Pathologists with board certification in anatomic/clinical pathology and cytogenetics are encouraged to apply. The salary, title and level of appointment will be dependent on academic qualifications and experience. The candidate will need to possess or must immediately apply for California licensure.
